Dr. Sarah Elaine Eaton on Active and Passive Voice - An educator's blog with loads of pages on different academic topics-of-interest.

EasyBib Blog - A bibliography generation website, this particular link will take you to their guides on MLA, APA, and Chicago style.

ESL/ELL Support - Billed as an English Grammar Handbook, this site has pages on basics like idiom, verbs, and parts of speech.

Excelsior OWL - Purdue OWL's younger, hipper sister. This site has information on APA, MLA, and Chicago styles, as well as helpful grammar, plagiarism, rhetoric, and ESL resources.

Specialized Googles - Google Books and Google Scholar are geared more directly toward the kind of research often called for at the graduate level. But you can also worship the tried and true Google gods efficiently, especially if you know all the tricks and Boolean operators.

Grammar Girl - Let the name tip you off: Quick and Dirty Tips is a great resource to answer common questions efficiently and easily. Also offering examples and memory tips, Grammar Girl (Mignon Fogarty) has posts on grammatical issues small and great, as well as breakdowns of writing trends, historical roots to everyday language, and more.

The Little Seagull Handbook - From Norton Publishing, this resource has model student papers, style guides, practice exercises, and writing tips.

Purdue OWL - A longtime favorite containing the most recent APA and MLA handbook information available in a more digestible format. Use the left-hand toolbar to navigate and find exact information. Best for finding answers to specific questions than general review.

University of Pittsburgh Resources for Graduate Student Writers - UPitt's own page of helpful links specifically geared toward graduate student writers, but with additional information on topics like digital composition, guided meditation, and citation styles.

University of Texas at Austin Writing Center Resources for Graduate Students - UTexas's page of helpful links include resources by discipline and genre, a writing log template, and grammar and style guides.
