*All kinder classes are now visiting the library weekly. Please have your child bring their book on the designated day:
Monday- Linker
Tuesday- Murphy
Wednesday- Phipps
Thursday- Reinartz
*Snack time is a brief break to refuel and prepare for the rest of our day. Snacks should beΒ healthy and clean (nothing that requires utensils or messy like cheesy chips or anything with juice that might spill). Students that bring cookies or candy will be asked to take it to lunch as it will not be permitted in the classroom as a snack due to the generally high sugar content and low nutritional value. Remember to send snacks in a separate container or baggie and place in the front or side pocket of your child's backpack. Snacks do not go in lunch boxes.
*Only clear water is allowed in the classroom in a spill proof, non-disposable bottles. If you are sending your child with juice or gatorade, they will be asked to drink it during lunch time. Please do not send in any water with additives like color or flavorings as these will stain and may also contain added sugar which is attracting to outside pests. Thank you for your help in keeping our kids hydrated and our classrooms clean.
*We go to P.E. for MAPS twice per week. Please send your child in tennis shoes and appropriate clothing on those days so they will be able to fully participate safely! There is not time to change shoes before leaving the classroom so please do not send extra shoes on P.E. days.
Monday - Phipps
Tuesday - Murphy
Wednesday - Reinartz
Thursday - Linker
Friday - Fitness FridayΒ
(all classes to the gym or music room for movement activities)
π For safety, classroom doors close and lock at 7:40 AM.
Please ensure your child arrives early enough to make it to class on time. If your child eats breakfast at school, they should arrive by 7:15 to allow plenty of time to eat before instruction begins.
*Invitations for birthday parties can only be handed out or facilitated by teachers at school if all students, all girls, or all boys in a class are invited. Unfortunately students will not be allowed to hand out invites during school unless the above criteria is met.
*Please remember to keep a change of clothes in your child's backpack (including socks & underwear). Place it in a ziplock bag with your child's name on it. That way, if there are any spills or accidents, we can locate their clothes easily.Β
Our daily lessons begin at 7:40, and we want your child to have a smooth start to their day. When children arrive late, they might miss some important learning while they're settling in and finishing their breakfast during our Phonics and Foundational Skills lesson. If your child has breakfast at school, we kindly ask that you aim to bring them in around 7:15 to ensure they have enough time to get settled.
π₯ Present Potatoes: A Fun Way to Build Great Attendance! π₯
We are so excited to roll out a brand-new school wide attendance incentive: Present Potatoes! Being at school on time every day helps our students learn, grow, and succeed together, and we want to celebrate that teamwork in a fun, visual way.
How It Works:
Each homeroom class received their very own Mr. or Mrs. Potato Head!
100% Attendance = 1 Piece: Every day the entire class is present and ON TIME, they earn a new body part (eyes, ears, arms, nose, mouth, or hat/hair) to add to their potato.
Chip Chip Hooray! Once a class completes their Present Potato, they notify the office to celebrate with a special class Chip Party and a surprise visit from our giant inflatable Mr. Potato Head!
After celebrating, the potato resets, and the class starts building all over again for another reward.
Thank you for partnering with us to build great daily habits and make sure your child is here on time and ready to learn each day. Together, we can make every day count because our students are truly all that and a bag of chips! β¨
iReady News for Families
We use iReady 3 times per year to track student progress. Below is a link where you can learn more about how to utilize the program at home. Please do not help students with the content in the lessons! The program helps us know what content needs to be retaught.

We love celebrating your child on their birthday and know it is a special day! Please remember that only store-bought, individually packaged treats (no bakery items) or non-edible favors are allowed due to time and allergies. We do birthday treats at the end of the day and only have about 5 minutes to celebrate the birthday boy/girl.
Unless it is an emergency, we will not sign out/check out students from the office after 2:00 pm.
Changes in a student's transportation must be communicated to the office prior to 2:00 pm. This allows the office time to relay any changes to the appropriate staff members.
Please remember to bring your dismissal tag everyday as there are days when a teacher may be absent and a sub is facilitating part of dismissal.Β
If your child is a walker please make sure that you approach the sub and show the dismissal tag in order for the sub to release your child to you.
Mrs. Phipps is still looking for 2 room parents to join our other kinder room parents! We'd love to have 2 room parents for each teacher this year to help facilitate great parties! We will also host a virtual meeting on Oct 15 to help provide guidance as they begin planning the winter parties.Β
