BACK TO SCHOOL

In consultation with the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education, Sherwood Park has been working on our return to school plan over the past several weeks. It is based on the plans released by the EECD, linked below. The final plan will be released once approved. Our goal, as always, is to provide a healthy environment in which learning can take place. Working together, following advice from Public Health, and being flexible, will allow us to continue learning at SPEC.

Cohorts of Students

An important component of the back to school plan, is to keep students in home room cohorts as much as possible. The physical layout at SPEC is ideal to reduce congregations of students. Each pod has a grade level, with their own entry/exit. Students will also stay with their cohorts while outside in designated and marked areas. The full plan explains in great detail the supervision and movement of students upon arrival, during the instructional day, and at dismissal. The videos below illustrate the arrival procedure for students, who will continue to wear their masks after exiting the bus or arriving at school in another manner.
