Sherwood Park Education Centre, is a technology-enhanced middle school, that opened in January, 1997. We are located in Sydney, Cape Breton, NS, Canada with a student population of 320 and a staff of 45. We are very pleased to provide a technology solution to our students. Our school has approximately 200+ workstations.
Sherwood Park Education Centre embraces a child centered learning environment with a focus on interdisciplinary teams integrating a large number of technologies and teaching/learning tools that lead to measurable outcomes.
Sherwood Park Education Centre strives to develop, in a safe caring and creative atmosphere, and through a process of shared decision making, and environment in which each student is motivated to succeed in her/his studies; as well as in extra and co-curricular activities according to his or her potential. Our school community endeavours to develop in all our students the self-discipline to act responsibly, a genuine caring attitude toward self and others, and a life-long love of learning.

Reminder there will be Band after school tomorrow until 3:45 for all grades.
Reminder If you are ordering School Pictures through the school, orders are due back to the school by October 16th. You may still order online after this date.
Picture Retake day will be Thursday, October 24th
Art Club will begin Tuesday October 15th in the art room. If you are interested in participating in the art club, there is a signup sheet on the school website. There is only room for 20 students, so first come first serve. Art Club runs from 2:35 to 4:00 and you must arrange for drives home prior to coming. Any questions please see Mrs. Lalonde in the Art Room.
There will be a GSA Meeting tomorrow at 11:35 in Ms. McPhee’s room, Room 104.
Also a reminder all application for any Grade 8 student who is interested in running for President of Student Counsel must have their Application in by end of the day today. Also a reminder to the candidates posters can go up tomorrow and speeches will be Friday. Please do not use tape when hanging posters. Use the blue putty.
