What do School Counsellors do?
School counsellors provide a number of services, including:
Emotional, social, developmental, and behavioural support
Personal counselling
Academic advising and support
Post-secondary and career awareness, exploration, planning and development
Collaboration and coordination of resources within the school and the community
Consultations with parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators
School crisis intervention
When should I contact my counsellor?
Students can contact their guidance counsellor for help with:
Academic concerns
Issues regarding social and/or emotional well-being
Accessing local supports/resources
Interpersonal conflicts
Class scheduling and courses
Career exploration
College/post-secondary planning

Stop by the guidance office and see Mrs. Avery. She will book an appointment for you.
