Rankin School of the Narrows is a Pre-primary-12 school located in the CBVRCE.
Rankin is located in the community of Iona. It is overlooking the Bras d'Or Lakes and across the road from the NS Highland Village Museum. It services communities from Long Island, along route 223; Eskasoni and the Washabuck penninsula.
It is located in Victoria County but services students from Cape Breton County as well.

Rankin has an outdoor rink; soccer field; walking trail; playground and GaGa ball pit.
Access to these facilities by the public is at their own risk.
Rankin is the only school in the CBVRCE that offers Gaelic language to its students. P-3 students all recieve programming and from grades 4-12; students can choose between French or Gaelic language classes.
Rankin is also the only school to have a Strings program offered for students from grade 5-12.
For field trips, permission forms must be completed for students to attend.
Students from grades 9-12 are permitted to leave school grounds at lunch to go to the store across the road. They must be back when classes resume.
