Practices and Procedures

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to notify the school if a student will be absent or arriving late.
An automated notification is issued to parents/guardians for students marked absent.
If arriving late, please check in at the office and have your attendance record adjusted.
Discuss with your teacher about any schoolwork you missed.
There are random draw prizes each term for attendance, behaviour, and completion of work.

Gym class is scheduled four each week.
You may need to change for gym: short, t-shirt, indoor sneakers, and deodorant.
Students in all grade levels can participate on schools teams.
The school grounds have a new outdoor classroom, climbing structure, swings, picnic tables, basketball nets, and hockey nets. There is also sports gear to play with outside during recess and lunch.

Pack a lunch or a full cafeteria is available to purchase hot meals, salad bar, and snacks.
Eat in the classroom, or outside - make sure garbage goes in the appropriate bin.
Play in your zone. Each class will be assigned a zone for each week.
Students are encouraged to have a water bottle with them throughout the day.
The gymnasium may be available during lunch, on a rotating schedule.

School Chromebooks are available for student use. Teachers will sign out devices to use at school.
School devices are to be left at school.
Your parents must sign a permission slip for you to have a personal device at school.
You are responsible for your personal device. Keep it secure in your classroom or locker.
You may use personal devices before school, at recess, and lunch. During class time they can only be used with teacher permission.
Electronics are never allowed in the gym, changing room, bathrooms, or stairwells.
A list of guidelines will be issued, students and parents will be asked to sign.
