Teacher Project grants are available for up to $500. The grants are for projects that promote some or all of the following:
Use of technology
Coding
Creativity
Innovation
Entrepreneurship
Maker Education
All items requested must be part of a project that students are making. Grants are not available for devices such as iPads, Chromebooks, and others.
In return, we ask you to share your project results with us, your colleagues, and your community.

School Project Grants are available for multiple (at least 2) teachers from the same school working on a large project together, costing over $500. It is also available for multiple (at least 2) Teachers from the same school who will be completing different projects but can share equipment, and the cost is over $500.

These are just some ideas, we love original project ideas!
Paper circuit materials:
Grade 6 students will create constellations on cardstock. Students will research legends about the constellation from various cultures worldwide, including the Mi'kmaq, and present their learning through posters, videos, or podcast recordings.
Codable robots:
A grade 2 class will write stories and code the robot toys to act out the story with their movements. Students will also use craft materials to design costumes for the robots.
Podcasting microphones:
Grade 4 students will investigate materials that absorb sound by creating desktop recording booths out of cardboard and test different materials for their ability to absorb sound. Microbits will be used to measure sound levels, and students will work in teams to write and record podcasts about explorers throughout history.
Building materials:
Grade 1 students will explore a variety of building materials such as Lego, Keva planks, magnet tiles, MakeDo screws and connecting straws to create model structures and buildings that would improve our community. Students will share their contributions in an oral presentation.
Exploring Circles
While learning about the properties of circles in math class, grade 7 students will use TinkerCAD to design and 3D print their personal designs using criteria decided by the class.
Hydraulics
Grade 8 students will use syringes, tubing, and Lego Technics to design machine prototypes that complete specific tasks. Experimenting with syringes of various sizes, groups will make creative and practical choices to help their machine work the best it can.
Entrepreneurship
What can we provide to help get your student's business ideas running? From vinyl cutters and heat presses to craft materials or a 3D printer, we love helping young entrepreneurs get their start!
Movie Making
Grade 11 students will use webcams and Chromebooks to film their scripts and creative writing stories.
Sustainable Farming Models
Agriculture 11 students will use craft materials, Microbits and hobby electronics to design and and model sustainable farms with working elements such as wind turbines, solar panels, etc.
