Family Studies From Home

Welcome to my Family Studies From Home web page. My name is Ms. Bornemann and I am a Family Studies teacher living in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. I started this website during the spring of 2020, while we were all self-isolating at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this online resource I have included a number of ideas for ways for students in grades 7-12 to explore Family Studies content from home, through three common Family Studies subject areas in the Nova Scotia curriculum: Foods & Nutrition, Sewing & Textiles, and Child Studies.

In each subject area you will find ideas for learning opportunities that you might be interested in trying out at home, as well as a note about how it fits into Nova Scotia curriculum documents. This website is a living document, so keep checking back for new ideas as I continue to gather more resources and make updates!
