Who am I?

I have been teaching with the HRCE since 2007 - mostly grade primary or one French Immersion. I have completed my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with St. FX, with a focus on Lower Elementary pedagogy and play-based learning. I believe in the process of education being a means to assist in the development of the whole child within a partnership between home, community and school.

I grew up in Cole Harbour before leaving home to go to university in Fredericton. Once I graduated my B.A. and B.Ed. I decided to do some teaching and traveling. My husband and I went to South Korea and taught there for 2 years. During that time we were able to visit over 20 different countries and experience lots of once in a life time moments together. Now we have 4 children of our own: Lily and Sam (13 year old twins), Rosie (9) and Meara (7). They keep us pretty busy with extra curricular schedules, but we like to stay home and curl up to watch funny videos and movies when we can too.

I have always enjoyed working with children, which is what lead me to become a teacher. I look forward to watching your children become more confident in their abilities and develop the skills to allow them to progress in their learning.
