"Homework assigned in grades primary–6 will – enhance student learning of foundational skills in reading and math (e.g., reading for pleasure, educational games) – gradually introduce time to practice or apply learning in other subject areas – promote healthy growth and development (e.g., practicing physical skills, interviewing family members)"
While your child will generally not be assigned much daily homework, it should be noted that they are expected to read every day for 20-30 minutes a day (preferably in French or French one day, English the other. While reading skills and strategies are generally transferable from English to French, your child will be missing out on learning new French vocabulary (as well as practicing reading fluency and thinking in French) if they are solely reading in English)
Every Week 1, students will be given 10 words and sentences on Monday to practice for a quiz on Friday morning
Every Week 2, students will be given verbs to study and conjugate on Monday. A quiz will be given on Friday morning. We will also be doing classroom activities throughout the week to practice the use of these verbs in real life scenarios (orally, and in writing)
