A Typical Day

Our day will begin with an activity at our seats while all our classmates arrive between ______TBA___. These activities could be play-doh, Lego, or drawing. As the year progresses we will add additional activities. After all busses have arrived we will start our academic day.


  • Class greeting and short share time.

  • Language Arts:

          • story read by teacher - discussion

          • phonemic awareness warm -up and word work

          • shared reading - poem/chant

          • independent reading

          • literacy station/center work

          • one on one instruction with teacher

          • whole group writing lesson

          • shared writing

          • independent writing

  • Snack / Recess

  • Math :

          • mental math practice

          • whole group instruction

          • guided practice

          • independent practice

          • share time

          • LOTS of hands – on activities

  • Lunch ( 30 minutes to eat then 30 minutes of playtime outside)

  • STEM/ Hands-on Inquiry/ Visual Arts

  • Pack up to go home


Music/ Physical Education and Library are interwoven in the weekly schedule.
