A Typical Day
Our day will begin with an activity at our seats while all our classmates arrive between ______TBA___. These activities could be play-doh, Lego, or drawing. As the year progresses we will add additional activities. After all busses have arrived we will start our academic day.
Class greeting and short share time.
Language Arts:
story read by teacher - discussion
phonemic awareness warm -up and word work
shared reading - poem/chant
independent reading
literacy station/center work
one on one instruction with teacher
whole group writing lesson
shared writing
independent writing
Snack / Recess
Math :
mental math practice
whole group instruction
guided practice
independent practice
share time
LOTS of hands – on activities
Lunch ( 30 minutes to eat then 30 minutes of playtime outside)
STEM/ Hands-on Inquiry/ Visual Arts
Pack up to go home
