Meet your school counsellor:
Erin Gaudet
Hey! Hi! Hello! Bonjour! I'm Erin Gaudet, and I am your school counsellor at KCA
I go by Ms or Mme Erin, whichever feels most comfortable to you.
My pronouns are she/her, which means when you talk about me, you could say, "Do you know Ms Erin? She loves board games and her hair is always a different colour!"
In the summer, I love to spend time at the beach, swimming and reading books. This is Lake Pleasant, and it is a very important place to me and my family. Is there somewhere that you love to be?
As you will notice, my hair and my glasses change a lot - that's one of the ways I express my creativity and individuality. I'm looking forward to learning about what makes you, you!
I have a pretty big family!
Most of them live in Halifax, but my mom and two sisters live in the Annapolis Valley near where I live.
I wonder if you can tell which ones they are in this picture?
This is me with my husband Alan on my graduation day.
I have a Masters of Education in Counselling, issued by Acadia University in 2024. I also have an MEd in Middle Level Education from Mount Saint Vincent University, and a BA and BEd from Université Sainte Anne. I have been teaching in the AVRCE since 2004, and I am excited to shift my focus to school counselling at KCA.
Something I love is making music. Here are some special moments from my music-making life.
This is a video of what used to be called the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir (AVHC). I sang with this choir in middle school and high school (a loooong time ago), and sometimes alumni are invited to participate in a song or two in a concert.
In this video from a concert in 2010 you can see me by the piano - I'm the one playing the flute. 😀 🪈
When I was a teacher at Evangeline Middle School, I directed the choir. I am normally a singer, so directing was a big step for me! I loved doing this extracurricular activity with these wonderful students and our Music teacher, Ms Cormier.
This is me in Xara Choral Theatre, a group which is near and dear to my heart, and which I sang and worked with from 2007 - 2020. This picture is from 2008 - can you spot me in the front row?
These are pictures of the choir I sing with now, called the Aeolian Singers. We do a lot of different types of music, and I love going to rehearsals and performing in concerts.
Something else I love is playing board games!
When I have spare time, I get together with my friends and we play for the whole day, or even the whole weekend 🤩 We play lots of different games, some of them are silly, and some of them are competitive, and all of them give us the chance to spend time with people we like.
Can you spot me in the photos below? Do you see any games you know?
