About Ms. B

This year will be my fifth at Rocky Lake Junior High!

I decided to become a teacher after taking a GAP year in London, England (Burgess Hill, West Sussex) for a year after high school. I realized during that year, that I really wanted to help others, in particular students, and when I returned home I attended university at Saint Mary's for my Bachelor of Arts and then Acadia University, in Wolfville, NS majoring in English and minoring in history for my Bachelor of Education.  This year, I am starting my Masters of Education in Curriculum Studies: Technology Integration at Mount Saint Vincent University in hopes to keep up with the 21st century and my students.

My 15+ years of teaching experience includes teaching English for the last ten years, social studies, health education, visual arts, physical education and grade 7 math. I previously taught at AJ Smeltzer Junior High, Georges P. Vanier and Oxford School Junior High, among many other junior high and high schools around the province.

The most important things in my life are: my family, my job, my health, beautiful scenery, and my niece pup, Bailey. I also love watching the Pro Stock Tour in the summer and fall, road trips, reading a really good book, listening to music and cooking.

I am most excited this year about getting to learn and grow with you, as well as try new ways of teaching.

Let's have a great year!!!
