Dear Families,
Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education, along with other regional centres for education and CSAP, is experiencing an issue with the text message (SMS) functionality within PowerSchool SchoolMessenger. Right now, some families and students are not receiving text messages sent by CBVRCE or their school(s).
While we work with PowerSchool to resolve the issue, families will still receive an email when there is critical school update, such as a delay or cancellation.
CBVRCE will also share details in the following ways:
· On CBVRCE’s website
· On CBVRCE’s Facebook site
· On CBVRCE's X account
Thank you for your understanding.

Introducing SafeArrival by SchoolMessenger
A New Way for Families to Report Student Absences
One of our greatest priorities is ensuring all students arrive to school safely each day.
Parents/guardians of students who attend our school now have the option to report their child’s absence in advance using a toll-free number, the PowerSchool Parent Portal or an app!
SchoolMessenger SafeArrival – an absence management system that improves student safety and makes it easy for families to inform their child’s school if they will be away – powers all three of these options.
If your child will be absent, please let us know by using one of the following methods:
· Toll-Free Number
Call 1-833-673-8243 to report an absence using an automated system.
· PowerSchool Parent Portal
Log into https://siscbvrsb.ednet.ns.ca/public/ and access the SchoolMessenger website to report an absence.
· SchoolMessenger App
Download the SchoolMessenger app for Android and iOS devices and sign up using your PowerSchool username (full email address). Please note that you must download the app that has the blue logo (not yellow).
