What is your digital footprint?

Your digital footprint is the trail you leave when you go online. This trail involves a record of when you use:

  • social media

  • websites

  • browsing history

  • online subscriptions

  • photo galleries

  • videos you upload/download


Tips for managing your digital footprint:

  1. Use privacy settings!

  2. Keep a list of accounts you use – delete any inactive accounts.

  3. Don’t overshare online!

  4. Google yourself

  5. Hitting SEND is like publishing information/videos/ photos forever.

  6. Searches are social – Facebook, Google, etc. track and record your information.

  7. Use digital tools to manage your footprint.
