The Nova Scotia Assessment: Reading, Writing and and Mathematics in Grade 6 and Mathématiques in Grade 6 is administered over 4-days between October 2nd- 18th.
Provincial assessments provide a snapshot of student performance in key areas including mathematics. They support learning by providing feedback to students, teachers and parents about student learning. Provincial assessments can also provide system-wide information that assists in identifying educational trends and making decisions about resources and support.
Mathematics questions reflect the end of grade 5 curriculum outcome expectations and are presented in a selected response (multiple choice) format.
French immersion students write the mathematics portion of this assessment in French.

Mathematics 6 Setting Students up for Success English, French - This Google slides presentation contains forty multiple choice questions from a variety of outcomes. The purpose of these practice questions is to provide students with opportunities to review mathematical concepts from past units and to discuss how they might approach selected response questions (making the thinking visible for all students). It is not intended for these questions to be done all in one session but rather to use a few questions as a class warm-up discussion over several weeks.
