Daily 30 Online Mental Math Practice from Brainbashers - Easy, medium and hard options. Try to complete the mental math computations in 30 seconds or less.
Math Talks from How We Teach - A selection of math discussion prompts to start class with.
Which One Doesn't Belong? - In this routine students are asked to look at all four images and asked to share their reasoning as to "Which One Doesn't Belong and Why?" The great thing about this routine is that there are no wrong answers, as long as the student's reasoning is true. The focus is not on the answer, but on the student being able to communicate his/her reasoning/justification of their choice.
Same or Different? - Same or Different? is a routine that provides students opportunities to construct arguments when comparing objects, such as numbers or shapes.
Would You Rather Math - Each prompt describes two options. Students are asked to choose one of those options and justify their choice with mathematics.

Math 1201 Student Intervention Resource - The Newfoundland & Labrador English School District has created an online intervention resource for students containing videos, self-assessments and unit reviews. Newfoundland's Math 1201 aligns with Nova Scotia's Mathematics 10 curriculum, but does not include the unit on Financial Mathematics.

Students work in small groups to complete review questions. Student buy the questions from the market and sell back correctly worked solutions for a profit. This activity is self-differentiated as students choose which level of question they'd like to attempt. Student recording sheet.
DRAFT Add' Em Up Cumulative Review (Units 1 - 6) - English (*Updated May 2025*) and French (*Under development*) - Students complete a set of 6 questions, with one question from each of the first six units. Once all six questions are complete ,students add the results to determine an overall sum for the the 6 problems and check their sum with the teacher. The teacher either confirms that the sum is correct and gives them the next set of questions, or lets them know that their sum is incorrect and they need to check their work.

Math 10 Cumulative Review Add 'Em Up activity - A set of 4 pages. Each page contains four questions. Students, in small groups solve the four questions and add up the solutions to create a sum for the page. They then check their sum with the teacher. If correct, the teacher hands them the next page. If not correct, they work together to find their mistake.
Math 10 Cumulative Review Row Game. Two students work together as partners. Each partner solves a different row of questions. Each row has the same answer so if students' answers don't match, they work together to find where their mistake is.

Math 10 Card Sort: *added January 2025* Students complete problems, then look for an answer in a set of cards. When they find the answer, they flip over the card, and complete the next question. Students continue with this cycle until all questions are complete, and the final answer is on the initial card.
