What Zone are you in Today?

As apart of our social/emotional learning and health curriculum this year, we've been working on being able to identify our emotions and develop some strategies of what to do if we are in a situation where we are not calm and "green". You can use this chart as a check-in for you child and you can talk about what each color means and what it looks like to be in the different zones. They really have enjoyed talking about this and learning about the zones this year!

This is link to a really nice book that has been created to help your child understand what is happening with the world and the Coronavirus. It is written in child friendly language and encourages children to talk about their feelings with all of the changes that have happened. It also gives them ideas of things that they can do to help slow the spread of the virus, how they can help at home, and ideas of fun things they can do to pass the time. As the end of the book there are a number of links to a whole variety of topics related to what is going on in the world at the moment.
