Amazing things that happened in our class...2016-2017

Our first successful puzzle completed by eager students in the class!  Way to go!  Get to know your beautiful country.

We had the pleasure of having our Aboriginal support worker, Ms. Dupuy, come into our class and talk to us about Mi'kmaq history.  The above image is the official apology, to former students of Indian Residential Schools, from Prime Minister Harper in July 2008.

SHJH had the amazing opportunity to listen to  Symphony Nova Scotia yesterday, October 5th, for about 40 mins!  What an experience.  The students soaked up a little bit of Nova Scotian music culture.

What an awesome experience for our student population to be able to enjoy the very best "Live Different" show!  Their topic this year was Empathy.

We were so fortunate today to watch live while Malala Yousafzai was given her Canadian Citizenship in Ottawa at the Library on the Hill.

A Nova Scotia Power presenter came in and did a thorough "Electrical Safety" unit with our class!  Wow, what an invaluable lesson.  Thanks Charlie.

SHJH Grade 6s did a phenomenal job cleaning up their entire school property and the surrounding neighbours! Way to go Team 6  Happy Earth Day April 22, 2017 .  Get outside and do something for your community to make it better this weekend. 

6-3 Baird is having a blast messing about with electricity!  We are all "circuited" up.

6-3 Baird is trying to "Break-Out" of their classroom.  Our amazing MSVU 1st year student teacher, Ms. Beaton, organized a "Break-Out" challenge for our students on her last day! Team 45 degrees was the winner.
