Visual Arts 11

Welcome to Visual Arts 11. We have a lot planned for this semester. On this page there is some information on what you can expect for learning experiences in this course.  If you have questions, please free to email Heather or call the school for details. 

Students will have many opportunities to Create, Make and Present their own original artwork as well as learn how to understand art they experiences in class and in their lives within the context of Time, Place and Community in which it was made.  

We will discuss a great deal of art from many time periods and cultures, and students will learn how to respond critically to their own art and that made by others as well as the relationship between artistic intent and finished products. 

The course will be organized through a series of Experiential Learning Modules in which students will: 1. experience art 2. reflect on these experiences and compare and contrast it with their life experiences 3. reflect on their new understandings 4. apply their new knowledge  in a peak experience
