Welcome to the EMS Tech Ed!
Welcome to the EMS Tech Ed!
Welcome to grade 7 & 8 Technology Education at Evangeline Middle School. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be at EMS and am pleased to be working with you all.
Let's create a positive, safe and engaging classroom environment together. - Mr. Bustin
Classroom Expectations
In Tech Ed. 7 & 8 my number one priority is ensuring a safe learning environment in the technology lab classroom where everyone has the opportunity to explore and use different technology.
To ensure a safe tech lab / classroom environment I have a few other expectations for my students:
Follow the ABCs while in the tech lab: Always Be Careful.
Respect yourself, others, learning, the machines, and the environment at all times. A respectful tech lab is a safe one.
Do your best. Don’t be afraid to be challenged and try new things.
Adopt a growth mindset. Nobody is perfect. Learn from your mistakes.
Attend class regularly and be on time.
Catch up on missed work when time is missed. The tech lab will be available at lunch for those who need to catch up on projects.
Be prepared for class. Come to class with lab appropriate clothing (no loose clothes, loose jewelry/rings put away), appropriate footwear (closed toe shoes only, no sandals or Crocs) and long hair safely tied back.
Self-advocate. Please speak with me before, during or after class if you are concerned about anything or need help, especially if you are unsure how to use a machine.
Mr. Bustin
Please contact me at any point throughout the year if you have questions, comments and/or concerns. I aim to reply to all emails before 5pm. Important notes and worksheets from class will be available on Google Classroom. All students have been given a code to join this classroom.
