Welcome to Evangeline Middle School!
Evangeline Middle School (EMS) is a Grade 6, 7, 8 school with an enrollment of approximately 325 students. Our school catchment area includes the communities of New Minas, Port Williams, Greenwich, White Rock, Canaan and North Kentville. Our feeder schools are New Minas Elementary School, part of Gaspereau Valley Elementary School and Port Williams Elementary School. New Minas Elementary School and EMS have French Immersion programs. Graduates from EMS attend Horton High School for grades 9-12.
The staff, students and community of Evangeline Middle School are committed to the goals of middle level education. We believe the intellectual, social, emotional and physical needs of students are priorities for our school. We believe students shall be involved in and share responsibility for their learning. We believe all stakeholders have a responsibility to provide for these needs within a physically and psychologically secure environment. We believe programs which focus on the wholeness of learning should facilitate the transition from childhood to adulthood. We believe a wide variety of learning opportunities, both social and academic, are needed to develop sound minds and bodies.
