During the course selection period ( February and March), the following happens:
a. Counsellors meet with students class-by-class and individually by appointment, explaining course options, requirements to graduate, also highlighting options that help with post-secondary plans. For example, Pre-Calculus 11 and 12 are required to enter a university science program. Graduation requirements and Course Descriptions can be found here. For specific university and college programs, please refer to those schools' sites.
b. Students are given resources to further research post-secondary studies ( My Blueprint Launch Page), as well as explained the importance of course selection. Note that course selection changes are not permitted after the closure of the selection portal.
c. Students choose their courses in Powerschool. We tell all students to review their course selections with their parent/guardian BEFORE the course selection portal closes. An alert is sent to parents as a reminder.
d. Future course changes are only permitted under special circumstances, such as a change in career plans. In these cases, a phone call, an email or a written permission form will be required. A form can be found here.

It is the responsibility of the student to check on availability and deadlines for each scholarship, bursary or grant.
Start the process of writing cover letters and reviewing scholarship opportunities EARLY! It's not hard but it can be time consuming.
Along with the links below, be sure to check out the student services bulletin board for new scholarships posted. Not all scholarships are publicized, so check with companies, organizations, clubs and groups. Also, be sure to check the company where you work part-time as well as the company your parent/guardian works. Some companies offer scholarships to employees or dependents of employees.
