O2 Program

For more information please contact Geraldine Amirault.

Options and Opportunities (O2) is a Nova Scotia program offering students a high school experience that helps prepare them for successful transition from high school to the post-secondary education needed to pursue their chosen career paths.

The program focuses on helping students achieve their academic potential, gives direction and support in developing goals and potential career pathways, and encourages students to commit to a new approach to their learning.

O2 provides students with a wide variety of experiences, including multiple opportunities for co-operative education, where students learn in community and workplace settings, link their in-school learning to the workplace, and have the chance to confirm their interest in that career path.

CO-OP Program

Co-operative Education courses help students plan their education, immersing students in career exploration and on the job experiences while they are still in school. Co-operative Education is available as an academic course in high schools in Nova Scotia and it provides valuable real world exposure for students.

Students who participate in co-op will have the opportunity to understand the workplace and gain the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to succeed in a career.

French Immersion

Both the Early and Late Immersion Programs allow students to become functionally bilingual and are designed for students who have little to no previous knowledge of the French language prior to their formal education.

Students enrolled in French Immersion Programs cover the same Provincial outcomes as their counterparts in the English Programs. Students enrolled in French Immersion Programs receive the bulk of their formal education in french.
