SeeSaw, has younger students engaged in showing parents class work. This tool also uses safety features to keep shared information protected, and has friendly cartoon icons to guide students when using the application (Willis & Exley, 2018). SeeSaw has the ability to use “a range of modalities (e.g., written, spoken, imaged, videoed, emoticons),” (Willis & Exley, p. 92, 2018) making it eye catching and engaging for younger students to operate. This communication application allows teachers and students to send texts, video’s, and class announcements about student learning and progress directly to a mobile device (Minero, 2017). This technology opens classrooms and invites parents in, and can translate text in over 50 languages (Ray, 2017), so that those who speak a different language can still be involved with what their child is learning in school.
