This new provincial-wide service is now available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide mental health crisis intervention. The crisis line is staffed by licensed clinicians with a background in social work, nursing or occupational therapy. Staff will triage and assess each call for risk and safety issues, and will help the caller cope with their issue.

(MHMCT) provides intervention and short term crisis management for children, youth and adults experiencing a mental health crisis. We offer telephone intervention throughout the Capital District and mobile response in areas served by Halifax Regional Police including Halifax, Dartmouth and Bedford. Our support is confidential, non-judgmental and respectful.
MHMCT also supports families, friends, community agencies and others to manage mental health crisis through education, outreach and consultation.

Delivers children's mental health care from a distance using educational materials and telephone support. Programs include:
Parenting the Active Child - Behaviour Difficulties Program: Helps parents learn to deal with common childhood behaviour problems such as temper outbursts, not listening, verbal and physical aggression, and difficulties paying attention. Program provides parents with a manual, DVD, behaviour chart for home, daily report card for the school, and weekly telephone support from a coach. Also available in French.
Chase Worries Away - Anxiety Program: Educates parents and children about anxiety and guides them as they learn relaxation skills and how to face worry in real life. The program typically deals with difficulties separating from loved ones, worry about performance, and specific fears. Provides parents and children with manuals or access to a secure website, videos, relaxation audio clips, daily worry tracker and weekly telephone support from a coach.
Dry Nights Ahead - Nighttime Bedwetting: Helps children overcome bedwetting with the use of a urine alarm, reward system, and weekly telephone support from a coach. Available dependent upon funding.
Chase Pain Away - Recurrent Headache/Abdominal Pain: Focuses on teaching stress management, avoidance of triggers, dietary modifications, appropriate use of over-the-counter medication, and with weekly telephone support from a coach. Available dependent upon funding.
Defeat Anxiety - Anxiety Program: Educates youth and their parents about anxiety and guides them as they learn relaxation skills and how to face worry in real life. Program typically deals with worry about performance, social anxiety, and specific fears. Provides youth and parent with manuals or access to a secure website, videos, relaxation audio clips, daily worry tracker, and weekly telephone support from a coach. Youth can receive weekly telephone coaching support through a group-based program with other teenagers who share similar challenges.
