IMHOTEP Dalhousie Legacy Academy (ILA) is an innovative university-community partnership that uniquely mobilizes university/college students, faculty and community leaders to help improve student success and bridge the achievement gap for Grades 6-12 students of African heritage in Nova Scotia. ILA provides its participants with an enriching blend of real-world learning projects, skill-building and leadership development activities as well as tutoring support. BFEC invites high school learners, 16 years and older, including adults of any age, to a student centered high school model leading to completion of NS high school credits. BFEC is a self-referral school for students who can make the commitment to regular school attendance, positive course participation, and a safe and healthy learning environment.
