*At this point in the year, students continue to develop meaning for numbers from 20 to 100. It would be appropriate for students to be working with any two-digit numbers, however, proficiency with the full range of numbers 20 - 100 is not expected in unit 3. Students will begin to explore connections between their understanding of representing, partitioning, counting, and recording quantities of countable, groupable objects (such as trains of 10 linking cubes, ten-frames) to pre-grouped, proportional base-ten materials.
