Participate in welcome events for Newcomer Families
Support Professional Development of schools understanding of EAL and cultural proficiently
Support whole class delivery of practices that develop an inclusive community
Small group work with students who need more focused instruction
Model, support and assist with Assistive Technology options specific to English Language Learners
Connect Newcomer Families to services and supports in their communities
Attend Student Planning Team Meetings to support programming needs for EAL students
As identified by the Teaching Support Team or Student Planning Team, work with students needing a more intensive (often one-on-one) approach to topics that may include:
o Building language proficiency, vocabulary, academic language etc.
o Supporting adaptations for specific learners
o Specific assistive technology options for individual learners.
o Support transition planning into schools as students arrive
o Support parents in understanding School process and support systems they can use
Support teachers with specific evidence based strategies for individualize students
