Below is a list of resources that have a completed DRA: Digital Resource Assessment
If a resource stores student data outside of Canada, a DRA must be completed by the region and signed by the regional director. Many resources do not store student data and do not require a DRA. If you have questions or would like to use a resource that requires a DRA but does not have one completed, email leannacampbell@cbvrce.ca or kurtk@cbvrce.ca
The software below has been evaluated and can be used by students. Teachers, please read the DRA before allowing your students to use these tools in your classroom.

This would be used by students, teachers or anyone within gnspes who has a need to edit photos.Some courses have photo editing as part of their learning outcomes. Courses including (but not limited to) CMT 12, MMD12 as well as any subject where students could meet outcomes through photo editing (story telling, etc…)

EASEL.LY is an online tool used to design infographics. The user can use templates or design from scratch. Students can collaborate at the same time.

Teachers /Students will use this app to store, manage and edit images for curricular purposes.
With NearPod, which is available across multiple platforms as either an app or web service, teachers create and/or utilize existing interactive presentations and can share them out to student-used devices in a controlled environment in real-time. There is a FREE version of NearPod, which gives the teacher a captivating presentation tool with the formative assessment capability to ask open-ended questions, and then an annual PAID teacher-subscription version that allows students to be able to interact and submit responses, also in real-time, or at their own pace, if the teacher desires. With the interactive student feature, the teacher can also aggregate, interact, monitor and measure student responses in a variety of formative methods.
Screencastify is a chrome extension that allows screen capture, with a voice record feature. Users can upload completed videos to Youtube or to Google Drive.
SketchUp for Schools is a 3D modeler now available in a web browser. The Service is intended to help educators and students design and create three-dimensional digital images and models
Adobe Spark is an online tool used to design, social graphics,infographics, webpages and video stories. The user can use templates or design from scratch.
WeVideo is a basic video editor that allows you to create, edit and share video. It also has a green screen capability. It is a video- creating and editing tool with full functionality on the chromebook.
Flipgrid is a video discussion platform where students upload short videos to share with their class. All the videos are together on one grid which the teacher and class can view.

Book Creator allows students to create and publish documents in a digital book format. They are able to choose from a variety of templates. Students can collaborate in real-time to develop texts and share their creations for reading online. Book Creator is available for both Chrome (web based) and ipads (app based).

Padlet is a software people use to make and share content with others. It uses a web browser to allow participants to post digital sticky notes to a virtual pinboard. The notes can contain text, images, documents, audio, video and weblinks.

Breakout EDU
Breakout Edu is an immersive learning games platform which can be used for remote or in person learning.
It has the ability to be integrated into a Google Meet session with students during a ‘learning at home’ scenario.

Newsela is a news article repository which can be sorted by topic and allows for adjustment of reading levels for students.
Teachers create an account and virtual classroom which students can join and read articles based on grade, reading level and topic. Teachers can create assessments based on texts and also create collections of texts around a topic or outcome. Teachers can also adjust the reading levels of each individual article to support students from a UDL perspective.
Epic! is an online and app based digital library containing thousands of digital books, audio-books, read-to-me books. It contains a classroom suite where teachers can create leveled book collections, virtual classrooms and assessments and guided reading supports.
Soundtrap is a digital audio workstation accessed in any web browser or through a mobile app (Chrome, iOS, and Android). Similar to other digital recording options, it includes prerecorded loops, multitrack recording, software instruments, voice recording, and the ability to connect MIDI devices.
Edpuzzle is a web-based interactive video and formative assessment tool that lets users crop existing online videos and add content to target specific learning objectives.
Parlay is a discussion based learning tool that allows teachers to foster meaningful and inclusive class discussions using a blended learning approach.
Seesaw is a platform for student engagement that inspires students of all ages to do their best, and saves teachers time! Students use creative tools to take pictures, draw, record videos and more to capture learning in a portfolio. Teachers find or create activities to share with students.
Dash's Neighbourhood is a platform that works with the coding robot, Dash. With this virtual coding environment, students can progam virtual Dash robots and/or program the code to work with the actual robots in their classrooms.
Kahoot! Is a resource which allows teachers to create and assign custom or premade quizzes for formative assessment, and a mobile App that expands on the functionality of the traditional Kahoot! experience.

Mathigon is a free web-app that offers math instruction and a variety of virtual manipulatives within activities. It also is available in 17 languages.

Flat.io for Education: Flat is a digital resource that allows you to easily create, edit, listen, print, share, and collaborate on music notation in your web browser.
Gimkit
Gimkit is an online live “quiz show” where students can answer a set series of questions from their teacher and potentially receive the same questions multiple times in a session. Students earn in-game cash for correctly answering questions and lose cash for incorrect answers. Students connect via game codes and can play in a web browser. Students should participate without logging in and provide a pseudonym.
Wordwall
Wordwall: Wordwall is an online tool for creating learning activities. With it, teachers can enter the topic that they would like to cover into the Wordwall and receive a variety of ready-made, fully customisable activities such as quizzes, word games, maze chases, and much more.

Figjam: Figjam is a free online whiteboard with a wide set of collaborative features. FigJam has internal timers, voting options, templates, stickers, widgets, plug-ins, and more. Unlike Jamboard, FigJam allows embedded video, media, and other links.
