About Us

Berwick & District School (BDS) is a Pre-Primary to 8 school located in the Town of Berwick, Nova Scotia. BDS is proud to be a part of the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education (AVRCE). Berwick and District School lives the theme of community on a daily basis. Students have many opportunities to learn, work, and play in multi-age groups. Living and being part of the community is the constant drum beat to the rhythm of our school.

BDS was built in 1992 and  the students moved from the previous school, which was location on Commercial Street. In 2025, the school is projecting an enrollment of approximately 300 students and nearly 40 staff members. Upon completing Grade 8, students leaving BDS attend  West Kings District High School. 

Classes begin at 8:05 am and end at 2:05 pm.
