Dear Parent / Carer,

It is hard to believe that the first half of the summer term is almost finished.

We said goodbye to Year 13 students on 14th May. They enjoyed prayers in a final leavers Gurdwara Assembly on Friday 10th May 2024 led by Mr Sidhu, followed by the leavers Awards Assembly in Nanaksar Primary School.  The assembly was led by Mrs Wilson and Mr Mand, and a farewell speech by Mr Sidhu.  We were entertained by the band known as HERODIAS.  Tarun Dhaul played the drums, Ashwin Dhaul played the guitar and Prabjyot Sehdev also played the guitar and sang the songs.  We would like to extend a special thank you to them for giving their time so generously. Our Year 13 students would happily have listened for hours! Thanks also to Bhavika Athiparan for her excellent photography to capture these key events so professionally.

For fun and entertainment, we also had Unique Character Awards shout-outs nominated by both staff and students.

The last award was perhaps the most significant. This student has worked tirelessly in all subjects, both in class and during private study. He is humble and helpful, regularly supporting his peers by teaching topics they find difficult. He is polite, and courteous and always reflects the S.H.A.R.E values of the sixth form.

FINAL AWARD – Student of the Year

Tarun Dhaul was awarded the SHARE values certificate and a glass trophy engraved Student of the Year.

Thereafter Year 13 final examination Study Leave commences on 15th May 2024. Parents do not need to inform the school of student absence for their child in Year 13 during this time period.

The final examination timetable has also now been published for Year 12 Mock examinations which run between 24th June to 3rd July.  A letter will be sent home confirming dates and the expectations of study leave. We also encourage Year 12 students completing EPQ submissions to try to complete this work before the end of the academic year in July. This will enable it to be marked ready for submission in the Autumn term.

We wish all students success in their upcoming exams. Please try to find a good balance between work and rest over the May half term break, and we look forward to seeing you refreshed and ready to make the final push towards academic success when you return in June.
