Northwood College for Girls visits GNSA to Explore Sikhism

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Northwood College for Girls at our Academy for an enlightening session on Sikhism. The visit provided a unique platform for sharing knowledge and experiences between our schools. All the children from both schools enjoyed different creative activities like making rosary beads, 5K’s booklets and word searches. During this event, pupils had the opportunity to meet other pupils and explore and express their ideas about respect for all.

Gurpurab celebrations

On 24th November, Gurpurab was celebrated across the GNSA MAT to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. Throughout the week, all Sikh Studies lessons and assemblies were based on the life and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. All children listened and responded to sakhis (stories) about the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This auspicious day was celebrated with enjoyable activities. Special lessons and activities were organised centered around Guru Ji’s message of unity and respect for all. Each student crafted their own 'Ik Onkar' symbol to visually represent the idea of oneness and unity among all beings. Our children enthusiastically recited a Punjabi poem that revolved around Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and legacy.

At lunchtime, the canteen was filled with delicious aromas of Langar, a shared meal served to all pupils and staff. It was a time for everyone to come together and enjoy a warm and nourishing meal. Gurpurab at GNSA MAT was a week filled with joy, learning, and unity.
