Goals in 8th Grade Math

Throughout the 8^th grade math curriculum, students will be engaged in a variety of instructional and assessment tasks that will challenge the students to become independent thinkers. The Tennessee State Mathematical Standards will provide students with opportunities that will engage them in critical thinking situations and promote problem solving. Students will make connections to prior and future learning.

Goals in Honors Algebra 1

Honors Algebra 1 students will demonstrate understanding of course objectives as identified in the Tennessee State Mathematical Standards. The curriculum includes opportunities for students to understand the structure of the content as well as discovering multiple representations of the desired outcome. Students will evaluate the reasonableness of their solutions, and they will learn to make connections using logical reasoning. All students need to maintain at least “B” average in the class.
