Our crew members handle the technical aspects of our productions. Led by the stage manager(s), they take many different roles, which might include...
assistant stage managers: Unlike other crew members, ASMs attend most rehearsals and help stage management with recording blocking, acting as prompter, and other duties as needed.
spotlight operator: Our "spot ops" spend the show above the stage in the catwalk and, usually during musical solos, aim the spotlight on the actors singing. We use two spot ops per show.
lighting board operator: Our lighting board operator follows along with the script and controls the light changes, or assists the lighting designer;
sound board operator: Our sound board operators follow along with the script and play the sound cues as they are needed. They also run the microphones that the actors wear.
costume and makeup crew: These crew members help take care of the costumes and provide assistance with hair and makeup and quick changes as needed.
running crew: These crew members are responsible for scenic changes and prop placement.
front-of-house: Responsible for greeting our patrons and helping them find their seats, our front-of-house crew members are the first point of contact with the public.
Typically, crew must be available for rehearsals about 2 weeks before the play opens.
Our Student Directed One Act plays will be performed Sept. 26 and 27 at 7 pm. Interested in being on our crew? Fill out this crew interest form, also located below, and one of our stage managers will be in touch!
