The counselor meets with all students in their classrooms every two weeks to discuss topics such as bully prevention, self-esteem, problem solving and decision making, study skills along with reinforcing character education. Please check your child's schedule. In addition, students are encouraged to share with parents what is discussed during guidance class.
The counselor meets with students as needed for short term counseling services during the school hours. After meeting with a student once, permission will be required for additional consultation. Some of the groups offered may include new student, self-esteem, social skills, friendship, anger management, or study skills. These groups will typically last 4-6 weeks.
Students can be referred by parents, teachers or self-referral.
