Here is some basic information about the 2023 Washington, DC Trip:
2023 Trip Prices: Student- $855; Chaperone- $1055
THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE IS A FOLLOWS:
DEPOSIT DUE: 1/7/2023 $250 Deposit (checks & money orders)
FINAL PAYMENT DUE: 04/01/23 Balance ($605/student; $805/adult)
REFUNDS:
April 15, 2023 is the deadline for refund requests. There is a $35 administrative fee for all refund requests. After April 15 there will be a 50% cancellation fee (unless cancellation is due to a verified medical problem). No refunds, for any reason, will be given for those cancellations which occur less than 72 hours prior to departure.
TRANSPORTATION:
Round trip to Washington, D.C. via deluxe motorcoach (air conditioned & restroom equipped). Carrier is MCA Transportation.
LODGING:
Due to the large size of the groups, we will utilize several hotel properties
within the Washington area. These properties are "true hotels" with elevators
and central corridors (no outside entrance or balconies). They are:
Holiday Inn Express, Hilton, Best Western – Springfield, VA
MEALS:
All participants should bring a breakfast snack and sack lunch for the
northbound lunch (bottled water will be provided). All other meals are
included in the tour price.
SAMPLE ITINERARY – Alachua County Washington D.C. Trip
DAY ONE*: (JUNE 6)
4:00 am. Report to Santa Fe College. 5:00 am. Depart. Driver change in route. Rest stop at Georgia Welcome Center with breakfast snack.
Lunch at the South Carolina Welcome Center. Rest stop at North Carolina Welcome Center. Buffet dinner in VA en route. Hotel check in
at the Hilton, Best Western and Holiday Inn Express in Springfield, Virginia.
Day One: Participants must bring a breakfast snack & bag lunch;
ALL other meals included
DAY TWO: (JUNE 7)
Breakfast. Meet licensed guide who will be with your group for the Washington portion of the tour. Group picture at the Grant Memorial
with your Representative. Tour Arlington National Cemetery (See the Kennedy Gravesite, the Changing of the Guard, and the Tomb of the
Unknown Soldier). Box lunch. Narrated bus tour of Embassy Row. Guided tour of the National Cathedral. Tour the Jefferson Memorial.
Tour the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and Korean Memorial. Dinner. Return to the hotel.
DAY THREE: (JUNE 8)
Breakfast. Tour Mt. Vernon, the home of George Washington. Tour the National Museum of the United States Army with boxed lunch. Picture stop at the White House. Tour the World War II Memorial. Walking or Coach tour of the of the Capitol Hill area. See the Capitol Building. Dinner at Catholic University Student Union. Night tour of Washington with stops at the F.D.R., Martin Luther King, Jr. and Iwo Jima Memorials.
DAY FOUR: (JUNE 9)
Breakfast. Tour the World War II Memorial. Tour the National Law Enforcement Memorial. Tour the International Spy Museum. Lunch at
the International Trade Center. Tour the Smithsonian Museum of American History. Tour the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.
Dinner. Return to the hotel. (Time to pack for return trip.)
DAY FIVE: (JUNE 10)
Hotel check out. Continental breakfast. Rest stop at the North Carolina Welcome Center. Driver change in route. Box lunch at South Carolina
Welcome Center. Catered dinner from Chic Fil A. Return to Gainesville by 9:00 p.m.
