Netiquette = digital etiquette

Digital = being online (using the Internet or Social Media to communicate with other people)

Etiquette = a set of rules for how to behave online (having good manners, treating others with respect, and communicating clearly with others online)

Flaming = when rude things are posted by people online

Flamewars = when people argue and insult each other online

Troll = a rude person who tries to start flamewars online and make people angry

Anonymous = unidentified (no one can tell who you really are)

Abbreviations = l8r (later) or lol (laugh out loud) or net (internet)

Emoticons = :-) or :-/

Appropriate = what is correct to fit that situation and the audience receiving the message

Privacy = keeping personal information from being posted online to anyone (including your name, address, photos, and other personal identity information)

Moderate = to be in charge of keeping peace between people while they communicate online

Provoke = to try to start up bad feelings in a person, to get people angry

Passively = to stay out of it and not get involved or do anything at all

Infer = being able to figure out what something means based on the information you've been given, even if the answer isn't given to you directly
