MIDDLE SCHOOL ART

The middle school art program bridges the gap between elementary and high school. Its function is to continue to develop the students' creative abilities, instill an enthusiasm and appreciation of the visual arts, and to develop the skills necessary for self-expression,

Students with have many opportunities to participate in exhibits, contest and school showcase. Allowing our students to gain experience and confidence in their work. Exhibits and contest also give the students an audenece outside the classroom to have their artwork displayed.

Through art experiences, a student continues to build skills such as critical thinking and creative problem-solving.

They will also develop an understanding of the connections between art and their core academic classes. Art is a confidence and creative thinking building process that can provide the student with a greater self-confidence - thus greater self-esteem.
