Scientific Method

Step 1. Problem statement

(The question the student wants to explore)

Step 2. Research and notes: At least 3 websites used with notes

Step 3 Form your Hypothesis

Step 4. Test your Hypothesis Experiment: procedures the steps in order on doing your project etc.

Step 5. Analyze your results by use of tables and graphs

Pictures are needed for your board

Step 5. Draw Conclusions write about what in your experiment

(project is due Dec.2)

Communicate Results (present Dec 5-9 ( dates could change)

Science Fair only for those students whose project meets requirements and want to participate, not all have to participate. Registration closes OCT.31


Homework assigned on Monday and due on Thursday. After homework is reviewed students turn into the basket labeled homework at the back of the room to be graded. Sometimes I give an automatic grade and will record on my clipboard so students will not need to turn in.

Homework grades: all work complete 100; items missing 1-2 90%; 3-4 items missing 80%; 5-6 missing 75%; 6-7 missing 70%; more than 7 missing 60-50%

If turned in early students receives a +10

1.5 Binder or Folder need 4-5 folders

Folder or binder: Should be labeled Science inside pockets front pocket labeled homework and back pocket is for signed papers

Lined Notebook paper

Pencils for the year (NO MECHANICAL pencils) and Blue or Black Pens

Hand Held pencil Sharpener

Colored Pencils or crayons, highlighters and markers

Teacher wish List: Copy paper, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, high lighters, erasers
