Gainesville High Media Center

Welcome

The Gainesville High Media Center provides users with a large collection of print and non-print resources, in addition to the availability of media specialists for consultation, co-teaching, collaboration and instruction. We provide instruction to encourage students to use information in all its forms and work with teachers to design instruction to meet the needs of students. Our job is to promote information literacy or the ability to access, evaluate and use information from a variety of sources and in a variety of formats.

Our hours of operation for students are:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 am - 8:30am/ Both "A" and "B" lunches / 2:42 pm - 3:00 pm After school tutoring is available Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

COVID-19 UPDATE LIBRARY PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES

  • Purpose: To set forth guidelines of a process that addresses safety for students and staff while meeting the responsibilities of the library. Guidelines address visits, shared equipment and material resources processes and procedures. According to the CDC, in order to protect from the coronavirus a person should do the following:

  • Maintain good social distancing (about 6 feet).

  • Use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

  • Routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

  • Wear a mask.

  • With this guidance in mind there are a few changes in the library. All visitors to the library will wear a mask or face covering while in the library. All visitors to the library will practice safe physical distancing as described by the CDC guidelines for stopping the spread of COVID-19.
