Questions to ask to assess reading comprehension:
What is the main idea of what you read?
What major events took place? How does the order in which they happened effect the characters or the story?
Who are the characters? What are some of their personality traits? How did you infer those traits?
What is the setting of the story?
What is the plot (problem and solution)?
