Title:

Be sure the title is big and describes the project.

Purpose:

What were you trying to find out and how does it benefit mankind and/or scientific knowledge. This should include your problem statement.

Hypothesis:

Predicted outcome of the scientific investigation. This prediction should be based on facts established through research.

Abstract:

Summary of the entire project. (Use form provided in the State Document Library.)

Materials:

List what you used and include a labeled diagram.

Procedure:

Explain exactly how the experiment was carried out with enough detail that another person could replicate your procedure and get similar results. All variables and constants should be clearly defined.

Conclusion:

Discuss what happened and why. Refer to the problem statement and hypothesis. State strengths and weaknesses of the project. Give suggestions for further research on this topic.

Project Notebook:

Include research upon which the hypothesis is based. Also include original notes made during design and data collection.
