I was born in Keystone Heights, Florida and grew up on a farm. I played lots of sports in school including volleyball, weightlifting, softball, and throwing shot and discuss for track and field. I was also active in many clubs including yearbook, newspaper staff, NHS, etc. I loved school growing up and knew I wanted to be a teacher since I got in trouble in Kindergarten for wandering around the classroom trying to teach other students how to read.

I am a graduate of the University of Florida with both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education. I love the city of Gainesville but I especially love the Gators. I probably talk about my family too much but is there anything better to dote on?

I believe in volunteering and am a newly appointed board member for Project Makeover. PM works hard to volunteer in two schools every year, one to do a mini-makeover and one school receives a complete make-over with hundreds of volunteers descending on the school to repaint, replant and rebuild.
