About the Museum

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of China University of Technology, faculty and students from the Department of Digital Multimedia Design jointly planned and built the Virtual History Museum, combining innovative digital technology with the university’s rich historical heritage. The museum showcases the institution’s development and educational achievements since its founding.

Crafted with Virtual Reality (VR) interactive technology, the museum allows visitors to embark on a digital journey across time and space. Whether through VR devices or web browsers, participants can explore the exhibition from anywhere in the world.

The museum features six themed exhibition halls: the Entrance Hall, Hall of Honor, Hall of Fame, Collection Hall, Story Hall, Heritage Hall, and Campus Hall. Together, they present the university’s historical evolution, distinguished alumni, treasured collections, and campus transformations, offering a comprehensive view of sixty years of growth and achievement.

Through interactive displays and immersive experiences, visitors can not only revisit the milestones of the university’s history but also witness its ongoing innovation and forward-looking vision in teaching, research, and industry collaboration. The Virtual History Museum stands as both a symbol of the past and a testament to the university’s determination and aspirations for the future.

Exhibition Halls

Entrance Hall

The Entrance Hall serves as the information center of the Virtual History Museum. At its heart, the university’s emblem is proudly displayed, symbolizing the spirit and identity of China University of Technology. A comprehensive guide map is available, offering visitors an overview of each exhibition hall and its unique highlights. Surrounding the central area are six interactive zones that function as teleportation points—by stepping into them, visitors are seamlessly transported to different themed halls, embarking on an inspiring journey through the university’s sixty years of history and achievement.

Hall of Fame

This hall highlights the distinguished figures of the university, including the founder, chairpersons, and successive presidents. Through biographical introductions and the presentation of their major achievements, visitors gain insight into their invaluable contributions and lasting influence on the development of China University of Technology.

Hall of Stories

The Story Hall presents the university’s developmental journey and significant milestones. Visitors can browse concise summaries of the institution’s history, explore a gallery of vintage photographs, and revisit the memorable moments and cherished memories that have shaped China University of Technology over the decades.

Hall of Heritage

The Heritage Hall embodies the enduring spirit of the university across generations and through the passage of time. Exhibits include the university motto, anthem, flag, and emblem, all of which convey the core values and educational philosophy that define the culture of China University of Technology.

Hall of Campus

The Campus Hall features a central three-dimensional model of the university campus, offering interactive exploration to help visitors gain deeper insight into the spatial layout and distinctive characteristics of the grounds. Surrounding the model are authentic campus photographs, providing a comprehensive view of the university’s landscape and atmosphere.

Hall of Honor

This area is the Hall of Honor, which shows the exchanges and interactions between the university and its alumni over the years, as well as the connections and cooperation with sister campuses, highlighting the university's glorious history of external expansion and sustainable connection.

Hall of Collections

The Hall of Honor showcases the university’s proud history of engagement and interaction with its alumni, as well as its connections and collaborations with sister institutions. These exhibits highlight the university’s achievements in outreach and the enduring bonds that reflect its commitment to expansion, sustainability, and lasting partnerships.
