Mr. L's Research Portal

1. Prepare: Staying Organized

Use a template to organize information as you find it. Create or own, or create a copy of the template here.

Click to open the file. Then, click File > Make a Copy to add it to your Google Drive. Rename it to keep your files organized.

Download Google Read&Write to highlight sentences and have them read back to you.

2. Discover: Information Sources

Be careful when searching the internet. Think critically. Notice the difference between information, advertisements, and entertainment. Check multiple sources. What are the intentions of the source? Whose perspectives are included? Whose perspectives are missing?

Destiny is a search engine (like Google). It searches through our library's book catalog and many web pages at once (like the ones you see below). Destiny is a good place to start your research. After you click the search icon to see your results, click the "Websites" tab at the top of the page.

You can also do searches within web pages. Click the picture to go the website. Look for a "search" bar on the web page.
