The 2020-2021 school year will be my 7th year in teaching and I've spent my whole career at Glen Grove! I'm very proud to be a GG Gator. I attended DePaul University for my undergraduate degree and I also have master's degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University (Go Green!). I live in Chicago and have a dog, a Boston Terrier, named Emmie.
When I'm not teaching, you can find me watching my favorite sports team, the Chicago Cubs, but I'm also a big Blackhawks and Bears fan. One of my favorite things to do is to visit baseball stadiums around the country; I've already been to 14 different ballparks.
You can also find me reading during my spare time. I especially love the Harry Potter series (I'm a Hufflepuff!). I've always got great book recommendations for students! When the weather is nice, I enjoy taking long walks, riding my bike, and working on my golf swing!
One thing that many people don't know about me is that I collect pencils from all over the world; it's a collection I started when I was in kindergarten.
In the summer of 2017, I visited 7 countries in Europe and made sure I supported my favorite baseball team!
I adopted Emmie in March of 2018. She is almost 9 years old. Emmie is deaf but that doesn't hold this little dog back! Emmie's name was actually Katie when I adopted her (and that's my name!) but because she is deaf we were able to give her a new name without any problems.
