Happy Friday, 4th grade families!
We have made it to the first weekend! What a great start to what is sure to be a wonderful school year full of learning, friendship and fun. Ask your child about today's Engineering challenge and discussion, or our conversation about expectations. We are really enjoying getting to know each other!
Please note the following ...
Picture Day is on Wednesday, 8/29! Dress your best and bring a smile. I will be collecting picture money through Wednesday morning.
Curriculum Night is Thursday, 8/30. I look forward to meeting you!
Please encourage your child to come to school with a water bottle. We are at the far end of the Voyager hallway, a long journey from the water fountain, and it will minimize interruptions to class if everyone is able to drink water without leaving the room. Thank you!
Weekend homework is to read, read, read! If you check your child's assignment notebook, you'll notice it says "Read for 60 minutes". Beginning next week, students will also be filling out a weekly check-in each week, which I ask that you review together and send back signed on Monday. There is no check-in for this week! We will talk about this procedure at curriculum night.
Thank you to those of you who have sent in your Million Words about your kids! I am still reading through the ones I have received and it is so enlightening to hear your own words about your children. I appreciate the obvious time and effort so many families have taken to put these together!
Finally, please feel free to contact me at any time regarding your child's progress, behavior or effort in class. I truly look forward to a terrific partnership this year and next! Have a fantastic weekend -- I think we all deserve it!
