in Room 9, we learnt about The Treaty of Waitangi.

To understand its history and importance, we played a Game of Land Trading.

First, we created our wonderful islands. Then we were forced to trade our land and resources for guns, tools and other things. Sadaw said that the rules were heart-breaking ...

This game helped us understand what Maori came through, their experiences and feelings about the land loss.

After playing this game, we came up with our class rules. These will prevent or solve any problems so we can enjoy our learning. The rules helped us create our Class Treaty - which we all agreed to.
